Looking for the perfect treat to cool off with? These Condensed Milk Ice Blocks are smooth, creamy, and just melt in your mouth with every bite. With a rich milkshake-like consistency and a sweet, refreshing orange flavor, this new and improved recipe is everything you need to beat the heat.

Ingredients

3 litres fresh milk

1 tin condensed milk

¼ cup icing sugar

¼ cup white sugar

A pinch of food coloring (powder or liquid) eg. pink, orange, etc

Steps

  • Sweeten the Milk: In a large bowl, whisk together the fresh milk, icing sugar, and white sugar. Whisk until the sugars are fully dissolved. To ensure everything is well-mixed, transfer the mixture to another basin and back again.
  • Add Condensed Milk: Gradually whisk in the condensed milk, making sure it doesn’t settle at the bottom. Keep mixing until the texture is smooth and resembles a milkshake consistency.
  • Add the Colour: Slowly add the food colouring, little by little, until you reach the desired shade. Be careful not to add too much—just enough for a vibrant pink or orange hue. The mixture should now look and feel like a creamy milkshake. Tip: Taste here and adjust the sweetness if needed—it should be slightly on the sweeter side.
  • Foam It Up: Transfer the mixture back and forth between bowls a few times to give it a light, foamy texture.
  • Pour and Freeze: Pour the mixture into plastic cups, place wooden sticks in the center of each, and freeze overnight. Make sure to freeze in a clean section of the freezer, away from any strong-smelling items like fish or meats.
  • Storage Tip: If keeping for a longer time, transfer the frozen ice blocks into a plastic bag to avoid absorbing any unwanted freezer smells.

Enjoy these creamy Condensed Milk Ice Blocks—perfectly sweet, smooth, and refreshing!
